Workshop Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • COREN, PMP, or relevant certification.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in workshop management within the automobile industry.

Role Description: The Workshop Manager will oversee the daily operations of the automobile workshop and ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery. Reporting to the Head of Commercials, this role is essential for maintaining operational standards, managing the workshop team, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong managerial skills, in-depth technical knowledge of automobiles, and a proven track record in workshop management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:

    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
    • Develop and implement workshop policies, procedures, and standards to optimize performance.
    • Monitor workflow and job allocation to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing workshop team.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Quality Control:

    • Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets the highest quality standards.
    • Implement quality control measures and perform regular inspections of completed jobs.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to service quality and customer complaints.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:

    • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to support workshop operations.
    • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of necessary materials.
    • Optimize resource allocation to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
  • Customer Service:

    • Maintain excellent customer service standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients.
  • Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage the workshop budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
    • Monitor financial performance and implement measures to achieve financial targets.
    • Prepare regular reports on workshop performance, including financial metrics.
  • Health and Safety:

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the workshop.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect staff and customers.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and address any identified risks.
