Service Cost Estimation Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost estimation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the automotive industry.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cost estimation best practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian automotive market and cost estimation practices is an advantage.

Role Description: The Service Cost Estimation Supervisor will oversee and manage all cost estimation activities within our automobile company’s workshop. This role is crucial for ensuring that all repair and maintenance services are accurately estimated, cost-effective, and completed in a timely manner to support overall performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and extensive experience in automotive cost estimation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Cost Estimation Management:

    • Develop and implement cost estimation strategies to ensure accurate and efficient service estimates.
    • Establish long-term relationships with key stakeholders to secure advantageous terms and streamline processes.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve cost estimation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Cost Estimation and Analysis:

    • Identify, evaluate, and select cost estimation methods based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
    • Provide accurate and detailed cost estimates for repair and maintenance services.
    • Monitor and analyze cost estimation performance and address any issues promptly to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Inventory Control:

    • Work closely with the inventory management team to maintain optimal stock levels.
    • Ensure accurate records of all inventories, including receiving, storing, and issuing materials.
    • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to prevent discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Budget and Cost Management:

    • Develop and manage the cost estimation budget to ensure cost-effective operations.
    • Track and report on cost estimation expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
    • Implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the cost estimation team, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
    • Conduct performance reviews and identify development opportunities for team members.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
    • Identify and mitigate cost estimation risks, including inaccuracies and inefficiencies.
    • Implement measures to safeguard estimation data against errors and discrepancies.
