Heavy-Duty Technical Support Field Officer

Job Summary:
The HD Technical Support Field Officer will provide on-site technical support and maintenance services for heavy-duty vehicles. This role is essential for ensuring that our customers receive timely and effective technical assistance, minimizing vehicle downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair and maintenance. Reporting to the HD Technical Support Field Supervisor, this position requires a proactive approach to resolving technical issues and maintaining high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Maintenance:
* Provide on-site technical support and maintenance services for heavy-duty vehicles.
* Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently to minimize vehicle downtime.
* Perform routine maintenance and repairs according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
Customer Service:
* Respond to customer service requests promptly and professionally.
* Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing effective solutions and support.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing their technical concerns and needs.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of all service and maintenance activities.
* Prepare detailed reports on technical issues, resolutions, and maintenance performed.
* Communicate effectively with the HD Technical Support Field Supervisor regarding ongoing issues and updates.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure all maintenance and repair work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
* Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards of technical support and maintenance.
* Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain service quality.
Training and Development:
* Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
* Stay updated on the latest advancements in heavy-duty vehicle technology and repair techniques.
* Share knowledge and best practices with team members to improve overall service quality.
Qualifications:
* Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
* Strong technical knowledge of heavy-duty vehicles and diagnostic procedures.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and customer service skills.
* Proficiency in diagnostic tools and software.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of the Nigerian automotive market and technical support practices is an advantage.
