POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking experienced and qualified Expatriate Class Teachers (Male/Female) to join our British primary school. With a Master’s degree in Education and a minimum of 8 years of experience in British primary schools in the UK, South Africa, or the Middle East, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and ensuring the academic and personal development of students. Your expertise in British curriculum standards and your multicultural awareness will contribute to creating an enriching educational experience for our diverse student population.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in accordance with the British curriculum and school guidelines. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of students. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, using various assessment methods, to inform instructional planning and individualized support. Establish and maintain effective classroom management strategies that promote a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students, including those with special educational needs or language challenges. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, resources, and technology to enhance learning and engage students in the learning process. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement cross-curricular projects, assessments, and activities that integrate different subject areas. Foster positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and the wider school community, maintaining open lines of communication and addressing concerns promptly. Provide guidance, counseling, and support to students, promoting their personal, social, and emotional well-being. Monitor and track student progress, maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and individualized learning plans. Participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school events to contribute to the school’s continuous improvement and development. Stay updated on current educational practices, research, and developments in the field of primary education. Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to coordinate and participate in extracurricular activities, field trips, and school events. Support and promote the school’s values, policies, and code of conduct, ensuring a positive school culture and environment. Maintain professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions and responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS:
Master’s degree in Education or a related field is required. Additional qualifications, such as a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), are preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience as a class teacher in a British primary school in the UK, South Africa, or the Middle East. In-depth knowledge of the British curriculum, assessment practices, and pedagogical approaches in primary education. Experience working with diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with varying abilities. Familiarity with differentiation strategies, inclusive education practices, and the use of technology in the classroom. Excellent instructional and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students. Knowledge of assessment and data-driven instruction to inform instructional planning and student support. Understanding of child development principles, including social-emotional development and behavior management techniques. Ability to adapt teaching approaches and resources to meet the individual needs and interests of students. Cultural sensitivity and awareness of the challenges and opportunities associated with teaching in a multicultural environment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and changing educational setting.
