Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our team. As a Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our facilities, equipment, and systems. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in maintenance, excellent technical skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.Responsibilities:
- Facility Maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, facilities, and grounds to identify maintenance needs and ensure they are in optimal condition.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as HVAC system checks, plumbing inspections, and electrical system testing.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs, renovations, and maintenance projects in collaboration with contractors and vendors.
Equipment Maintenance
- Inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure their proper functioning.
- Conduct regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance activities according to manufacturer specifications and maintenance schedules.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and perform necessary repairs or coordinate repairs with external service providers.
System Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain the operation of essential systems, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire safety, and security systems.
- Respond promptly to system failures or malfunctions, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Work Order Management
- Receive and prioritize maintenance requests from staff members, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Create and manage work orders, tracking progress, and updating relevant documentation.
- Coordinate with internal departments to schedule and execute maintenance tasks while minimizing disruption to daily operations.
Inventory and Supplies Management
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies, equipment, and spare parts.
- Coordinate the procurement of necessary materials and supplies to support maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, including stock levels and usage.
- Comply with relevant safety regulations, guidelines, and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate actions to address them.
- Support the implementation of safety programs and initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or technical training preferred).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in a similar role or industry.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to maintenance activities.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and work order management.
