JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartered Head of Accountant to join our organization. As the Head of Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to the organization. Your strong financial expertise, leadership abilities, and attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing financial processes, and supporting the organization’s growth and profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage the accounting department, overseeing all financial functions and activities. Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators, identifying trends and providing recommendations to senior management. Coordinate and manage the year-end financial audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of audit requirements. Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgets to the executive team, providing insights and recommendations for decision-making. Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, coordinating with external tax advisors when necessary. Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to identify potential risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Chartered Accountant (ICAN) certification is required. Proven experience as a Head of Accountant or in a senior-level accounting role. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations. Strong understanding of financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills. Integrity, ethics, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
